The Royal Hall Restoration Book covers all the major restoration of the building and of the fund raising activities organised by the Restoration Trust. I started documenting the Hall from 2006 and followed it through to the Gala Opening on 27th April 2008. I took over 5000 photographs covering two visits by Prince Charles, various fund raising activities as diverse as Alan Bennett being interviewed by Dame Fanny Waterman at Rudding Park and Beloved Clara being performed by Edward Fox and Joanna David on top of the scaffold in the roof area.
The book is over 150 pages and shows the true extent of the damage and dilapidation of the building and painstaking repair, from the building work done in the basement through to the gold leaf being laid by the decorators. There is a copy of the book Harrogate Public Library and also in the council offices on public display.
